Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NACCA), Dr. Prince Hamid Armah has unseated sitting Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim Constituency Mr. Joseph Mensah in the just ended Parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party.
After votes from all eight electoral areas were counted, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah secured two hundred and five (205) of the total votes cast whilst the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr. Joseph Mensah had one hundred and forty two (142).
The development has fulfilled a promise made by Dr. Prince Hamid Armah to make sure Mr. Joseph Mensah becomes a one term MP.
Delegates and sympathizers of Dr. Prince Armah have beseiged the Party office at Kwesimitsim to share their excitement.
Most of them have expressed disappointment about the level of development in the area under the leadership of Mr. Joseph Mensah.
They have accused him of neglecting the party and bringing divisions into the ranks and file of the Party in the constituency.
Dr. Prince Hamid Armah has been hailed by most Ghanaians for his in-depth knowledge in education.
Under his leadership, the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment has become a household name in Ghana.
He played an important role in the introduction of the double track system to complement the Free Senior hight School Policy introduced by the Nana Akuffo Addo government.
Prior to his victory, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah has been providing support for the Party sympathizers in the constituency.
He recently introduced life insurance scheme for all poling station executives of the party.
