A delegate who is aligned with the incumbent Member of Parliament for Effia, Joseph Cudjoe has been arrest by the police for an electoral malpractice.
The delegate whose name has been withheld is said to have taken a photo of his ballot this morning as he undergoes the process of casting his vote at the Koobe electoral area.
The Member of Parliament told the media, the police are intimidating his ‘men’, and he finds that very worrying.
“Whats the crime here? You arrest him because he took a photo of his own ballot? We know of the intimidation that is meted out at our people and we won’t allow this”.
“I’ve called for calm…we don’t want any confusion but the police need to exercise caution”, Hon. Cudjoe charged.
He continued that his ‘caucus’ pick up intelligence prior to today’s election of police to intimidate his ‘delegates’.
The ‘arrested’ delegate has been sent to the Takoradi Central Police Station.
Hon. Joseph Cudjoe is defending his third bid for the parliamentary candidature of the New Patriotic Party. His contender, Dr. Adwoa Kwegyirba is a new face to the contest but promises to give the MP a serious competition.
